Volunteer Opportunities

We are grateful for your willingness to support Caprock Academy through volunteer service. Whether you are a parent, guardian, or a valued community member, your time and effort directly benefit our students and school. For Caprock families, volunteer hours count toward your annual volunteer commitment. All volunteers help strengthen our programs, relieve budgetary constraints, and demonstrate strong community engagement, an essential factor in securing future grant funding. Most importantly, your example models generosity and service for our students. Thank you for investing in the success and character of our school community.

Current Opportunities

Help us introduce more families to Caprock Academy! Parent and student volunteers are needed for upcoming Farmers Market outreach events, with double volunteer and community service hours available.

Caprock Academy will be participating in several local Farmers Market events this summer and fall as part of our community outreach and enrollment efforts.

These events provide a valuable opportunity to connect with prospective families and share what makes Caprock Academy a distinctive tuition-free, K–12 public charter school open to all students.

We are currently seeking parent and student volunteers to help at our booth during select market dates throughout the season.

  • Parent volunteers will receive double volunteer hours.
  • Student volunteers will receive double community service hours.

Please use the link below to view available dates and sign up.

Help Us Expand LEGO Robotics at Caprock Academy

Several of our third-grade students participated in LEGO Robotics last year and built a strong foundation in coding, engineering, problem-solving, and teamwork. We would like to continue developing these skills and expand the program to additional grade levels—but we need adult volunteer leaders to help lead new groups.

Volunteer leaders will receive:

  • Lesson materials and program support
  • Access to LEGO Robotics sets already purchased by the school
  • The opportunity to observe the current class during the first quarter before leading a group

Our long-term goal is to offer LEGO Robotics at multiple grade levels, creating a strong pathway for students to eventually participate on a FIRST LEGO League Challenge Team in grades 4–8.

Future Plans for LEGO Robotics

Caprock Academy’s goal is to establish a competitive FIRST LEGO League Challenge Team. To make this possible, we hope to purchase a FIRST LEGO League robotics kit and cover the annual team registration and competition fees.

Estimated costs include:

  • FIRST LEGO League Robotics Kit: Approximately $550
  • Team registration and competition fees: Approximately $750

We will be fundraising throughout the school year to support this goal. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer leader, donating your time, sharing fundraising ideas, assisting with fundraising efforts, or making a financial contribution, please contact Kim Klene at k.klene@caprockacademy.org.

We will keep families informed about upcoming fundraising opportunities and look forward to building an exciting future for robotics at Caprock Academy!

Help support Caprock Academy Athletics by volunteering at an upcoming home game.

Caprock Academy Athletics is looking for volunteers to assist at home games. Opportunities include keeping the scorebook, helping at the entry table, and supporting other game-day needs.

No prior experience is required, and training will be provided before you begin.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Danielle Garcia at d.garcia@caprockacademy.org.

Caprock Academy is hosting a booth at the Fruita Fall Festival on September 25–26, and we need volunteers. Sign up now for double parent volunteer hours and double student community service hours.

Caprock Academy will have a booth at the Fruita Fall Festival on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, and we're looking for parents, staff, and students to help represent our school in the community.

Volunteers will share information about Caprock Academy, hand out free swag, answer questions, and build community connections. Many community members don't yet know about Caprock Academy or mistakenly think we're a private school — this event is a great chance to help change that.

Volunteering at this event counts for double parent volunteer hours and double community service hours for students.

Festival Hours:

  • Friday, September 25: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Saturday, September 26: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Shifts are available throughout both days, and each shift includes at least one staff or admin member alongside parent and student volunteers.

Volunteers are welcome, but not required, to wear a Caprock Academy spirit shirt. If you need one, please contact Tisha Moore with your size. Complimentary 20th Anniversary shirts are available for volunteers who don't currently have one, including students, while supplies last.

Thank you for helping us grow our Caprock Academy community!

Looking to Give Items Instead of Time?
Donating tangible items from our current wish list—such as classroom supplies, furniture, or event items—also counts toward your annual volunteer commitment. Please visit our In-Kind Donations page for a list of currently requested items and how they directly benefit our school.
