Mrs. Tracee FlenardTracee is a native of Seattle but has been in Colorado since 1993. As a proud military brat, she grew up traveling and living around the USA, Japan, and Germany. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine and Performing Arts, as well as a K-12 Art Teacher Certification from CMU. She has been teaching at Caprock since it opened. She was inspired to become a teacher by her own middle school art teacher, with whom she still keeps in touch. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
Miss Laura TraverMiss Traver has lived in Grand Junction since 1991. She attended college at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Arts. Her foundations include fine art, art history, painting, clay sculpture, motion graphics, compositing for film and television, photography, and figure drawing . She has been teaching at Caprock Academy since 2015. Miss Traver enjoys camping, swimming, ALL kinds of arts and crafts, cartoons, and video games.
Mrs. Amy SwongerAmy Swonger. She has her Bachelor of Science in Music with an emphasis in vocal performance from the University of Colorado. Mrs. Swonger moved to Silverton CO. She worked as an EMT while finishing her Masters in Music Education from CSU and her OAKE endorsement. She spent several years teaching music and theater in Silverton until budget cuts closed the program. She was excited to find a music teaching position at Caprock and loves the curriculum and the great students at Caprock.
Mr. Lyndon MarshallMr. Marshall started teaching Band and Elementary Music at Caprock in January 2017. He is a Colorado native and attended Colorado Mesa University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Music Education K-12 in 2016. During his college career, Mr. Marshall was a trumpet player with the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos, Brass Quintet, Maverick Stampede, and Maverick Sound. Away from school, Mr. Marshall enjoys being outside and traveling.
Mrs. Megan SalazarMegan Salazar grew up between Durham, North Carolina and Silverton, Colorado. She earned a degree in Classical Studies with a focus in Latin from Hillsdale College, before moving back to Colorado in 2007. She and her husband moved to Grand Junction in 2014 to pursue opportunities with Caprock Academy. She is excited to share her fascination and love of language with students who are so excited about learning.
Miss Rachel HogeMiss Rachel Hoge was born in, Michigan. After several moves around the Midwest, she moved to Grand Junction while in high school. Rachel graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a bachelor of arts in elementary education and also received a special education endorsement. She enjoys working with students of all ages. When she is not at the school, she likes to read just about anything. Rachel is involved in music around Grand Junction and loves performing in vocal concerts.
Mr. Larry RasmussenI am Larry Rasmussen. In 1980 I moved from Denver to Grand Junction to teach. My wife and I married in 1998 and our 2 daughters are grown and work in education. I have five grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 15. I chose SPED because I have a special place in my heart for children with disabilities. My hobbies are kickboxing in which I have earned a black belt. I love to fish and explore the lakes on the Mesa. My favorite pastime is spending time with my grandkids!
Mrs. Jennifer HeilMrs. Heil grew up in New Mexico, went to school in Arizona and moved to Grand Junction about 9 years ago. She graduated with a degree in accounting from Northern Arizona University. She is married and has two children that attend Caprock Academy. She loves the outdoors and spends her free time hiking, running, and biking with her family and reading.
