Parent’s Right to Know

 

As a parent or guardian of a student at our school, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the teachers who work with your child.

Federal law allows you to request specific information about your child’s classroom teachers, and we are required to provide this information promptly upon request. You may request details regarding:

  • Whether a teacher has met state qualifications and licensing requirements for the grade level and subject area in which they teach
  • Whether a teacher is teaching under an emergency or provisional status in which state licensing requirements have been waived
  • Whether a teacher is teaching in the subject area of their certification
  • Whether your child receives support from a teacher’s aide or other paraprofessional, and if so, their qualifications
