He joined Caprock in 2013 and currently he teaches Western Civilization, American History, and American Government. He also coaches the girls’ varsity basketball team. He is excited to have the opportunity to educate the students of Caprock.
Mr. Benjamin JordanI grew up in Aurora and attended Mesa State College graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics. I wanted to teach because I love seeing kids have that “a-ha” moment when they finally understand a concept. My two boys attend Caprock and that was part of what led me to teach here. Once I saw the influence Caprock was having on my children, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. It has not only benefited my family, but also the students I am currently teaching.
Mrs. Cheryl MartensMrs. Martens graduated from the Honors program at CMU, where she received a B.A. in Writing and Communication. She also earned an additional B.A. in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English. Mrs. Martens has taught both 6th grade and high school at Caprock and appreciates the efforts of the staff and students to make Caprock an exceptional school. Her favorite pastime is traveling with her husband Randy to new and exciting places.
Mrs. Sandy McMackenSandy McMacken was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Washington University with a B.A.E. in Earth Science. Besides teaching, Mrs. McMacken enjoys hiking, knitting, and silversmithing.
Mr. Preston RoeI earned my degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Classical Languages and Literatures with an emphasis in Latin. I developed an interest in classical civilization and the impact it has had upon the course of Western history, culture, literature, science and art. I believe that the culture they bequeathed to us has something to offer all personality and learning types: left brained, right brained, creative, analytical, students who like English and students who like chemistry.
Mrs. Rebecca RoseberryI have my B.A. from Louisiana State University in English and Mass Communications. I’ve recently completed my teacher certification with Colorado Mesa University and am currently 12 hours from completing my Masters in Education. I’ve been married to my husband, Tim Roseberry for 26 years and I have two amazing daughters, Lindsey Roseberry and Madeline Roseberry. I’ve lived in Grand Junction for 26 years.
Mr. Scott WilsonI have been teaching, on and off, for over 17 years. I taught biology and AP Biology for 13 years in Texas and have taught middle school math and science for an additional 4 years. My hobbies include hiking, fishing (and, in the past, making bamboo fishing rods), photography. I have two children: my son is currently teaching English composition at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa City, Iowa and my daughter is a senior at CMU majoring in both psychology and English.
