At Caprock Academy, we know that the partnership between families and our school community is the foundation of our success. Since opening in 2007, our families have been vital in shaping the exceptional K-12 education we provide. This year, we are proud to introduce the Caprock Academy Annual Fund—a meaningful tradition that allows families, staff, and alumni to directly and positively impact our students, programs, and future.
Why Your Support Matters
As a charter school, Caprock Academy faces unique financial challenges. Unlike local public schools, we do not receive funding from local taxes, including property taxes, mill levies, school bonds, or voter-approved taxes allocated to schools in Mesa County. Instead, we rely on state per-pupil funding, which is equal to that of traditional public schools but does not account for the additional costs of operating a charter school.
However, state funding can be unpredictable. In years like this one, when Colorado faces a $1 billion budget shortfall, the state constitution's requirement for a balanced budget often places education on the chopping block. This variability in funding further amplifies the financial challenges we face as we strive to provide a high-quality education for our students.
This creates a significant funding gap per student each year. The Caprock Academy Annual Fund helps us bridge this gap and ensures we can continue advancing key priorities, such as:
- Attracting and retaining talented educators through competitive salaries and benefits
- Enhancing instructional resources to support academic excellence
- Improving accessibility to all students and families
- Expanding opportunities in athletics, the arts, and student activities
- Maintaining and improving campus facilities

A New Tradition of Giving
At Caprock Academy, we are building a new tradition—one of generosity, growth, and community support. The Annual Fund provides essential resources beyond our standard operating budget, allowing us to invest in meaningful improvements and projects that directly enhance our students’ education.
If every family contributed just $21 per month, we could raise $160,000 to support our students and school. Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference and strengthens this tradition. Our goal is 100% family participation, as each contribution—big or small—helps build a stronger future for Caprock Academy.

We recognize the generosity of our supporters at various giving levels, from Friends of Caprock Academy to the Head of School’s Circle, ensuring that every contribution is valued and appreciated.

Capital Giving
Capital gifts are used to enhance the community, whether by supporting specific projects, scholarships, or faculty. Gifts to our capital campaign are an integral component for the long-term success of our school and will allow Caprock Academy to maintain its presence at the forefront of Charter Public School of Choice education. Giving Levels
The Annual Fund allows us to recognize the generosity of our supporters at various levels. Each level represents the commitment to advancing Caprock Academy’s mission and providing exceptional opportunities for our students.
- Head of School's Circle: $100,000 and over
- Grand Mesa: $50,000-$99,999
- Mount Garfield: $25,000-$49,999
- National Monument: $10,000-$24,999
- Palisade Orchard: $5,000-$9,999
- Gold Eagle: $2,500-$4,999
- Silver Eagle: $1,000-$2,499
- Blue Eagle: $500-$999
- Red Eagle: $250-$499
- Friends of Caprock Academy: $1-$249
The Annual Fund runs from July 1 to June 30, offering year-round opportunities to support Caprock Academy. All contributions within this period count toward your sponsorship level.
