The Caprock Academy Board of Directors has two (2) seats up for election this year. These seats are two (2) Parent seats. 




  • Parent Seat Currently held by Kathy Cantu

  • Parent Seat Currently held by Joyce Sekharan

  • Edward Kulasik​ 


Caprock will hold a forum for all of the candidates on Thursday, April 18th from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in the Vocal Music room.

The elections will be held beginning on Friday, April 19th - April 24th. 

Then we hold elections during the week of April 22nd with the election closing on Thursday, April 25th. The beginning date of service for the newly elected board members will be May 2019. 

Candidate Requirements

A prospective candidate must meet the following requirements:

  1. The prospective candidate cannot be a Caprock Academy employee, nor a spouse of a Caprock Academy employee;

  2. The prospective candidate shall have attended at least one regular meeting of the Caprock Academy Board of Directors prior to being seated to the board;

  3. The prospective candidate must submit the following documents:


Board Responsibility


The Caprock Academy Board of Directors (the "Board") is the governing body of the school.


The Board has the responsibility for:

  • Ensuring that the school is operating in compliance with its charter, bylaws, and contract with its authorizer.

  • Creating a master plan that ensures that the school is achieving its Vision. 

  • Ensuring decisions are made in harmony with the school's Vision.

  • Ensuring the financial strength and stability of the school.
