Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Teacher shall report to and is accountable to the Deans of Students, Director of Academics, and the Head of School. The Teacher assists in leading Caprock Academy to achieve its Mission of academic and personal leadership within its student body and faculty. S/he will support students in the areas of academic, emotional, and behavioral development. S/he will:

  • Ensure that the lesson plans are developed, taught, and updated according to Classical Education philosophy;
  • Research and troubleshoot student issues;
  • Establish and monitor academic progress ensuring learning experiences for all students;
  • Assist students with the emotional and social wellbeing and personal growth through Character Education;
  • Coordinate with parents and other teachers for large projects;
  • Aid with traffic and emergency drills;
  • Assist students in following accommodations/modifications for IEP or other student plans;
  • Oversee and manage students with the help of an Educational Assistant;
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant state, federal, and local laws, and regulations (including Colorado Charter School Institute);
  • Attend faculty and other meetings as needed;
  • Submit written reports, upon request, to the Dean, Director of Academics and/or the Head of School;
  • Attend other Caprock Academy or community meetings as requested by the Head of School.



  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (teaching license preferred)
  • Commitment to Classical Education and the Core Knowledge Sequence as well as other aspects of Caprock Academy’s Core Values (i.e., Singapore Math), preferred
  • Experience in implementing, managing, and analyzing data from assessments
  • Experience in working with students of varying ages, skill levels, and circumstances
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred

Starting salary of $40,000 depending on experience and education. This is a full-time, exempt position.
