K-6th Grade Teacher Requests
K-6th Grade Teacher Request Guidelines for the 2024-2025 School Year
Parents wishing to make a request for their child, going into kindergarten through 6th grade, for the upcoming school year must make the request in writing to the Assistant to the Head of School, by submitting a completed Teacher Request Form.
It is not possible to honor all requests.
Parents are cautioned not to request placement or non-placement based upon what they have heard about a teacher or teachers from other parents or community members. Just as each child is unique, so is each teacher. An experience that other parents may have had with their child(ren) may be completely different from the experience your child(ren) could have with the same teacher.
Requests for a child not to be placed with another child, for whatever reason, must be noted in writing on the Teacher Request Form. Given other circumstances and teacher recommendations, it is not always possible to honor these requests.
*ONLY TEACHER REQUEST FORMS RECEIVED BY MAY 1, 2024, NO LATER THAN 3:30 PM WILL BE CONSIDERED.
*KINDERGARTEN REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 28, 2024, NO LATER THAN 3:30 PM, TO BE CONSIDERED.
*FORMS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE MAIN OFFICE.
All parent requests received by the deadline date of May 1, 2024, will be strongly considered, however, the final placement decision is based upon a social variety of factors including but not limited to academic and social considerations, student plans, total class size, male/female ratio, and heterogeneous grouping.
The final decision on all student placements rests with the Head of School after due consideration of all staff recommendations and parent requests. We will do our best to place students per parent’s requests, however, as stated, we may not always be able to accommodate the parent’s request.
