Did you know that the Playground Committee is partnering with an aspiring Eagle Scout to build a Gaga Ball Pit for our playground? Have you ever heard of a gaga ball pit? Well now you have.
A gaga ball pit is a fast-paced, dodgeball-style game played in a fenced-in court (often hexagonal or octagonal) with a single ball and two or more players. The pit will be placed between buildings one and two on the same area as the second basketball/tetherball court. Yes, we’ve added in another court that you can’t see from the horseshoe. This project will be built onsite by Boy Scout Troop #353 on Saturday, April 3rd. But before they do their build, the playground committee invites you to help! We need volunteers on Saturday to level ground and lay landscape fabric before the Boy Scouts arrive!
- When: This Saturday, April 3rd
- Time: From 8:00am-10:00
- Who: Adults, Middle and High School Students
- What to bring: Hat, sunscreen, water bottle, knee pads and 3 pound hammer (if you have them).
- Reply to firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up. We need 15 volunteers to make this happen.
This aspect of the playground project is another true group effort. Great thanks go to Roland Galvan, the aspiring Eagle Scout and Boy Scout Troop #353, Grand Junction Home Depot, Orchard Mesa True Value and Remi Galvan of Galvan's Custom Cabinetry for donations of labor and supplies to make this fun game and Eagle Scout project come together for our Caprock students. Join us to make sure the playground is ready for the build!
