Playground Fundraising

Playground Donations

August 25, 2020

Dear Valued Community Member,

Caprock Academy has been established in our community for over 13 years, providing classical education for 860+ students last year and now employs 130 teachers and staff.  As a public charter school, Caprock does not receive funding from District 51 nor the recent school bond measure.

Since January 2019, the students at Caprock have been without playground equipment or outdoor activity space. Students and teachers have endured indoor or very limited outdoor recess for nearly two years.  We are building a new playground with an outdoor activity area and need financial support.  Grants and lottery funds have been difficult to obtain for playgrounds in recent years, and with COVID-19 on the scene, almost impossible.  Our students have returned to in-person learning and now, more than ever, will benefit physically and mentally from outdoor play during recess and PE class.  Once COVID restrictions are lifted, Caprock students will also use the playground and outdoor activity area before and after school, for a total of 30,000+ hours of student play/exercise every year.

Donations up to $250 will receive a thank you letter:

$10       $20           $50         $75      $100          $150    $200       $250

Donors of $500 and above will also be eligible to have their name engraved on a stone sign at the playground:

$500--Bronze          $1000--Silver         $5,000--Gold              $10,000--Benefactor

To make a Tax Deductible donation: Write a check to Caprock Academy (note: Playground) and send to the address below.  Donations must be received by September 30, 2020.  If your donation is $500 or more, please also indicate the name you would like engraved on the honor sign.

Thank you for your support which improves the health of our students.  Caprock Academy continues to succeed due to the support of our community.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Andrew Collins
