What is a Lending Library?

The Caprock Academy Lending Library is a free book exchange open to all members of our school community. Established in Spring 2022, the library continues to grow thanks to the generosity and participation of our students, families, and staff.

It’s a simple and meaningful way to encourage a love of reading:

  • Take a Book – If you see a book that interests you, you're welcome to take it home and enjoy it.

  • Share the Joy – After reading, return it to the library or pass it along to someone else.

  • Keep the Story Going – If you truly love the book, feel free to keep it.

Together, we’re building a community that shares the joy of reading—one book at a time.

How You Can Help

Book Donations
We gladly accept book donations year-round! If you're cleaning off your shelves or have gently used books your family no longer needs, consider donating them to the Lending Library. Donations can be dropped off at the school office during regular business hours. Your generosity helps keep our shelves filled with engaging reads for all ages.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the Lending Library. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there are meaningful ways to get involved:

  • Assemble and distribute prizes for student reading programs

  • Assist teachers with classroom library resources

  • Help sort, stock, and organize Lending Library books

Your time and support help foster a strong reading culture at Caprock Academy.

If you’d like to get involved, please reach out to:

Mrs. Jen Heil: j.heil@caprockacademy.org or Mrs. Andrea Simonds-Cummings: a.simonds-cummings@caprockacademy.org

Together, we can inspire a lifelong love of reading across our community!
