Caprock Academy History Day
Twice a year, Caprock Academy brings history to life through our beloved History Day events. Students and staff immerse themselves in the time periods they’ve been studying, creating a rich, hands-on experience that deepens their understanding of the past.
On History Day, students are encouraged to dress in period-appropriate attire, sample foods from the era, and participate in themed activities, games, crafts, and presentations. These interactive events make learning memorable and meaningful—transforming history from something they read into something they experience.

Important History Day Information for Volunteers & Visitors
History Day is one of the busiest days of the year for our campus. Please review the following guidelines to help the day go smoothly.
Parking
All parents and visitors are asked to park in the south parking lot and walk to the front office to check-in before going to the classroom.
Dropping off food, crockpots, and/or supplies for the classroom?
- Please park in the South parking lot. If that parking lot is full, please park in the front (West) parking lot.
- You DO NOT NEED TO check in with the front office, if items are left with office staff for delivery. If you wish to deliver these items yourself, you must sign in with the office to receive a visitors badge.
-
Please make sure your name is clearly written on crockpots, lids, serving utensils, and/or trays.
- Please make arrangements with your child's teacher to pick up your items at the end of the day on History Day, as we do not have room in the office or kitchen to store these items.
Volunteering in the classroom?
- You MUST request a copy of your background check for $6.00 through www.cbirecordscheck.com. Please save your report as you will need to attach it to your Volunteer Application in the next step.
- Please complete the Volunteer Application no later than the day before History Day. Please note that our Volunteer Application can be found on our website.
- Please park in the South parking lot. If that parking lot is full, please park in the front (West) parking lot. Vehicles in the West lot MUST be moved before 1:00 PM so that we can prepare for after-school pick-up.
- ALL volunteers will be REQUIRED to sign in at the front office.
- The ladies in the front office will walk you through the check-in process. If it is your first time volunteering, you MUST bring a valid state issued ID with you.
- You will be given a white sticker to wear in a visible location at all times.
- A white sticker means you have submitted your volunteer application, and you may move freely around campus.
- Families are welcome to bring younger siblings to History Day; however, they must stay with you at all times and remain under your supervision. If a sibling becomes disruptive during a presentation, lesson, or activity, we respectfully ask that you step out with them until they are ready to rejoin.
Coming to have lunch with your student?
- Check with your child's homeroom teacher for their specific lunch time, as it may be different for History Day.
- Please park in the South parking lot. If that parking lot is full, please park in the front (West) parking lot. Vehicles in the West lot MUST be moved before 1:00 PM so that we can prepare for after-school pick-up.
- ALL parents, grandparents, and adult visitors will be REQUIRED to sign in at front office. If it is your first time visiting the school this year, you MUST bring a valid state issued ID with you.
- Please allow an extra time when arriving on campus.
- You will be given a yellow sticker to wear in a visible location at all times.
- A yellow sticker means you have not submitted your volunteer application, which means you MUST be escorted around campus.
- Families are welcome to bring younger siblings to History Day; however, they must stay with you at all times and remain under your supervision. If a sibling becomes disruptive during a presentation, lesson, or activity, we respectfully ask that you step out with them until they are ready to rejoin.
