8th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip – April 2026

We are excited to announce that Caprock Academy’s 8th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in our annual educational trip to Washington, D.C. in April 2026. This enriching experience is designed to complement classroom learning with real-world exploration of U.S. history, government, geography, science, and the arts.

We are proud to partner with EF Explore America, a trusted organization with over 55 years of experience in providing meaningful student travel opportunities that broaden perspectives and deepen learning.

Trip Highlights & Educational Goals

Students will:

  • Experience government in action through visits to significant national institutions.

  • Engage with American history, geography, science, and art in a dynamic, immersive environment.

  • Develop financial literacy by learning to budget, fundraise, and manage expenses.

  • Participate in academic extension activities including research, writing, photography, public speaking, and collaborative projects.

Trip Details

  • Estimated Cost: $3,200
    Includes airfare, hotel accommodations, meals, local transportation, and admission to museums and historic sites.

  • Limited Availability: Only 50 student spots are available—early interest is encouraged.

  • Behavioral Expectations: Students must meet Caprock Academy’s expectations for attendance, conduct, and academic readiness.
    Final eligibility will be determined by the 8th grade teaching team and school administration.

Parent Information Meeting

An informational meeting for parents will be held on June 26. 2025 at 6:30 pm in Building 1 room 06.  We will provide additional trip details, discuss fundraising opportunities, and answer any questions you may have. Please watch your email for the official meeting invitation.
